Neither side of my brain has ever really won out. I’m a creative capable of coming up with compelling conceptual ideas as much as a logically driven computer nerd who has spent far more time than is healthy becoming proficient in everything from web and print design to branding, internet marketing and photography.
More recently, I have dedicated much of my time to establishing a career in the video and film world, having directed, written, produced and edited everything from music promos to corporate shoots and short films, co-founding a production services company called 321 Collective (and buying some nice man toys) in the process with some very talented friends. We have so far been trusted to produce videos for clients including Sony/EMI, NSPCC, Fujitsu and Nike 6.0.
Many moons ago, after becoming bored fixing Windows XP printer problems as a support technician, I took a short course in hand drawn animation. Somehow this led to me enrolling in a Graphic Design degree at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. I will be forever grateful to the tutors who introduced me to typography and, more particularly, my major study, advertising. This led to work as a creative for agencies including TBWA/London and Cunning Stunts working on brands as diverse as Galaxy Chocolate, Aquadrops, Pedigree Chum and Glasses Direct.
As a freelance designer and creative, I have developed entire brand identities, websites and marketing materials for many startup companies (see my portfolio page).
My favourite beer is Asahi. My Chinese nickname is Ho Dor Wong Yip. On any given evening, you will often find me in dingy bar taking pictures of live bands you’ve never heard of (but maybe will one day). I play more table tennis than a grown man really should.
